Future Scholar "Making Bank" Contest

Make financial education fun with "Making Bank"

It’s never too early to learn about the importance of saving and smart money choices. Now through January 31, 2022, South Carolina K-2 teachers are invited to register their class to participate in the Future Scholar "Making Bank" Contest. The contest is a fun activity for students that also encourages parents to start talking to their children about creating good financial habits.

Using a provided template, students will be tasked with using their creativity to design a piggy bank that illustrates things they’d like to save for, highlighting and demonstrating an understanding of both their needs and wants. Teachers may expand the contest into a classroom or take-home lesson using our activity guide.

Each participating school will select first, second and third place prize winners. First place winning students will then be entered into a statewide contest for a chance to win a privately funded $500 college savings grant.

See contest and prize details below, along with official rules.
